4 Best TRX Shoulder Exercises

This week we follow up our TRX series some intermediate exercises.  We’ve laid our the first one 3 different ways. So please adjust to your desired fitness level. So lets get started. Ive mentioned this is no many other videos, and I will again. Make sure your core is engaged and you go at your own pace. A very important factor is to make sure that he TRX cables are tight with tension through the exercise.

 EXERCISES

  1. Hand-Stand Pushup Variations: 1.  Feet shoulder width apart, Watch the angle of your body. Depending how angular you are, determines the resistance of this exercise. Make sure the straps aren’t resting on your arms. This takes some practice 2. 45 degree angle pushups. Core engaged, push with your shoulders.  3. TRX handstand Pushups. Adjust the body out. Keeping your chin tucked into your body. Go slowly. This takes practice.
  2. TRX T’s: Your creating a T. The big focus here is your core is engaged, feet are stiff. Heel is planted. Fall back while holding on to the TRX obviously. Then pull your self back up with your arms straight out to your sides. Hold to squeeze the Rhomboids (muscle in the middle of your back). Repeat.
  3.  X’s:  Similar to the way the previous T’s were orchestrated. But making sure that one arm is up above your head. The other is down at your side. This creates the X.
  4.  W’s: Starting with your arms straight holding you to a 45 degree angle from the floor. Pull with your Biceps out to your sides. Creating 2 90 degree angles with your arms. Using your Rotator Cuff, your arms create a W, with your back. This is a little hard to explain but that’s why we create videos.

EQUIPMENT I USED

  • TRX Suspension Trainer
  • Yoga Block

With this workout try to get to 12-15 repetitions on each exercise. If you can’t do it it’s ok. Practice makes perfect. As with all workouts, make sure to warm up beforehand. Listen to your body and modify as needed, stopping altogether if something doesn’t feel right.
